Nachhaltige Universität Graz
In teaching, research, knowledge transfer and university management, the University of Graz assumes responsibility for shaping a future worth living. The principle of sustainability, taking into account the ecological, economic and social dimensions, points the way forward. The scientific debate provides answers to current challenges, and sustainable action in all areas of the university should serve as a model for society.
Since 2016 the University of Graz has been certified according to the Eco Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). This commits the University to continuously improve its environmental performance: In teaching, in terms of energy and resource requirements, investments and construction, procurement, waste, mobility, training, participation and cooperation. These requirements are laid down in the environmental guidelines. In its annual environmental statement, the University provides information about its activities, past performance and future goals.
